Dudhsagar Waterfall is among the highest water falls in India. It lies in the southern part of Goa, towards the border with Karnataka state. It has a total height of 306 meters and a width of 30 meters. The water fall is at its peak flow during the monsoon months from mid-June to September and wanes out towards the summers from March to early June. Dudhsagar means Sea of Milk in the local language, owing to its appearance akin to an overflowing sea of milk during the monsoons. Dudhsagar is a popular destination for daytrips.
